Sunset Park Shooting Leaves 19-Year-Old Injured

SUNSET PARK, NY – A 19-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot near Fourth Avenue and 59th Street in Sunset Park on Thursday, just before 5:30 p.m.

The area is known for its busy streets and is near a subway stop and a playground.

The victim was shot once in the left leg. Witnesses reported that a verbal dispute occurred between the victim and the shooter before the incident. Police are currently investigating the case.

Local business owners Edwin Hernandez and his father Robert mentioned that both the victim and the suspect have caused trouble in the area before.

No further details about the cause of the argument have been released.
