MPD seeks suspects after federal officers assaulted in Southeast D.C. vehicle attack
Washington, DC – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects wanted for a felony assault on federal officers after ramming into a government vehicle in Southeast D.C. late last month.
The incident happened on August 28 at about 9:47 p.m. in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road SE. According to investigators, agents from the United States Secret Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were on patrol when their vehicle was sideswiped by two suspects in separate cars.
One of the vehicles sped away at a high rate of speed, while the other pinned an agent against his car while attempting to flee. Authorities confirmed the federal agents were not injured during the encounter.
The suspects were caught on nearby surveillance cameras, and images have since been released as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone with information about the suspects to contact them at 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous text tip to 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
