DC man charged in Q Street home burglary linked to two other break-ins
WASHINGTON, DC – A 36-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into an occupied home in broad daylight and stealing cash, with investigators linking him to at least two other recent unlawful entries across the District.
The break-in happened around lunchtime on Tuesday, January 13, when a suspect forced his way into a residence on the 400 block of Q Street NW. Inside, the suspect stole money and quickly fled the scene. The victim was home at the time but was not physically harmed during the incident.
Following an investigation, police arrested Michael Lenard Pearson of Southeast DC on Sunday, January 18. He has been charged with Burglary One in connection with the Q Street incident.
But authorities say that wasn’t Pearson’s only alleged offense. He is also facing additional charges tied to two separate unlawful entry cases — one earlier this month and another dating back to November.
On January 8, Pearson allegedly entered a property on the 600 block of 11th Street NE without permission around 11:30 a.m., resulting in an Unlawful Entry charge. And on November 9, 2025, officials say he entered a property on the 2600 block of 13th Street NW just after noon, where he is accused of committing both unlawful entry and Theft II.
The arrest brings an end to what police believe was a series of non-violent but targeted residential crimes during daytime hours. Officials have not said whether any of the homes showed signs of forced entry or whether Pearson was known to any of the victims.
