Suspect Arrested After Reported Gunfire on Beechwood Avenue in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – On Sunday, New Rochelle Police responded to a gunshot incident at 132 Beechwood Avenue.

The complainant reported a gunshot coming through her apartment floor around 12:30 am.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the apartment below and discovered a defaced 9mm Ruger handgun with ammunition.

The gun’s owner, Javier Lopez, 34, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and other related offenses.

There were no injuries reported in the incident.
