Suspect Arrested Armed Robbery at New Castle Pharmacy

NEW CASTLE, DE – On Friday morning, Justin Kranz, a 27-year-old resident of New Castle, was apprehended by troopers for the armed robbery at Darley Pharmacy in Claymont.

On Thursday, at about 5:11 a.m., troopers received a robbery report from the Darley Pharmacy located at 111 Darley Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a white male had recently fled the scene after brandishing a rifle and demanding money from the cashier.

Along with the stolen cash, the suspect took a bottle of soda. Despite having his face hidden with a t-shirt, the cashier recognized the individual and provided a description. By 8:55 a.m., troopers identified and detained Kranz on Philadelphia Pike without confrontation.

Kranz was subsequently charged with Robbery First Degree and Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony.

He is currently held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $66,000 cash bond.
