Suspect Arrested Following Shots Fired in Annapolis

Annapolis, MD – On Thursday, Annapolis police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Main Street and Conduit Street. Witnesses reported hearing 4 to 5 shots and seeing a white male wearing a black cowboy hat and carrying a black backpack leaving the area.

While processing the crime scene, officers heard another set of four gunshots on Main Street. Responding officers located a suspect matching the earlier description walking up Main Street. The suspect, identified as Jason Matthew Hockenberry, born April 28, 1976, was taken into custody and a handgun was found in his possession.

Hockenberry was transported to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center. He faces charges including seven handgun violations, making a false statement, reckless endangerment, obstruction, and illegal possession of a firearm.
