Suspect Arrested for Monday Shooting in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA. –  Police in Alexandria have arrested Enoc Cruz Villafuerte, 22, on a charge of second-degree murder for a shooting murder that took place early Monday morning.

According to police, the initial call for service was received at approximately 1:56 a.m. for a shots fired incident in the 1400 block of North Beauregard Street.

“Upon arrival, police discovered the deceased, Jonathan Cruz Villafuerte, 24, with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.  Officers and medics attempted to render aid, but the attempts were unsuccessful,” police said.

Villafuerte was arrested at the scene and is charged with 2nd-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
