Suspect Arrested for Shooting in Paterson

PATERSON, NJ – According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes a suspect has been identified and arrested for the March 20th shooting in the area of Beech and Essex Streets.

Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora said Laquan Coleman has been arrested for that shooting that sent a 26-year-old Paterson woman to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

“On March 20, 2022, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Ward Street and Spring Street in Paterson, New Jersey after a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate a crime scene or any victims,” police said in a statement. “A short time later, members of the Paterson Police Department were notified that a 26-year-old female Paterson resident had arrived at Police determined that the shooting had occurred in the area of Beech Street and Essex Street in Paterson.”
