Suspect Arrested in Connection with Roxbury Shooting Incident

Boston, MA – The Boston Police Department has announced the arrest of Tyrone Anderson, 39, of Dorchester, in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Roxbury. Anderson was apprehended by members of the Youth Violence Strike Force at approximately 9:20 AM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in the area of 2 Yarmouth Place.

At the time of his arrest, Anderson was wanted on a warrant issued out of Roxbury District Court for several charges, including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The charges stem from an incident that took place on May 18, 2024. At about 4:02 AM, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a report of a person shot in the area of 9 Abbotsford Street. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
