Suspect arrested in fatal Southeast D.C. shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of 45-year-old Adam Dove, who was killed in Southeast D.C. earlier this year.

The shooting occurred on March 8th around 9:26 p.m., when Sixth District officers responded to the 1400 block of Ridge Place, Southeast, for reports of gunfire. Dove was found in the roadway with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

On December 6, 2024, members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended 47-year-old Craig McKinney of Southeast, D.C. McKinney has been charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant.

The Metropolitan Police Department has not released further details about the arrest or the events leading to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
