Suspect Arrested in Greenbelt Shooting Incident

GREENBELT, MD – Yesterday, at approximately 8:22 pm, Greenbelt Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Southway and Greenbelt Rd. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered an adult male victim with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Law enforcement quickly took action, and an adult male suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting. The motive behind the incident is still under investigation. Due to the police response, Southway inbound to Greenbelt center was temporarily closed but has since reopened to traffic.

The Greenbelt Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward to aid in their ongoing investigation.
