Suspect Arrested in King Shooting

KING, N.C. — The Stokes County Sheriff’s Office reported an assault charge in a shooting incident in King.

The event took place around 6:43 p.m. on Thursday.

Deputies arrived at the 300 block of Northfield Drive, finding a man with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently recovering.

The suspected shooter, identified as 24-year-old Paul Samuels Jr., fled the scene but was later apprehended in Walnut Cove. He was taken into custody without incident.
