Suspect Arrested in Knotts Island Missing Person Case

Virginia Beach, VA – Detectives from the Virginia Beach Police Department have arrested Ashley Walton, 35, from Knotts Island, NC. The arrest followed an investigation into the disappearance of Martrell Andre Lamar, 42, also from Knotts Island.

Following a tip, authorities detained Walton on Tuesday. She faces charges of Concealment of a Dead Body and Accessory After the Fact to Homicide.

Lamar has been missing since July 2, and his absence is being pursued as a homicide investigation. Currently, he has yet to be found.
