Suspect Arrested on Firearm and Drug Charges After Open Alcohol Investigation

BOSTON, MA – On Friday, officers from the District A-1 Bicycle Unit in downtown Boston apprehended Isaias Plaza, 23, from East Boston. The arrest occurred around 7:05 PM in the vicinity of 131 Tremont Street after Plaza was observed drinking alcohol publicly. Plaza attempted to flee but was promptly caught by officers.

A search following the arrest led to the recovery of a Walther PPK/S-1 .380 ACP firearm with six rounds of ammunition and several plastic bags containing a white rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine.

Plaza, who had two active warrants, now faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs, and resisting arrest.
