Suspect Charged for Murder and Arson in January Killing

COLUMBUS, OH – Police in Columbus arrived to the scene of a car fire with a deceased person inside on January 7th. An investigation determined the man was murdered.

Acording to the Columbus Police Department, =on that date, Columbus Fire responded to a vehicle fire in the 100 Block of Yale Ave.  

“Upon extinguishing the fire, they observed a deceased person inside the vehicle. The Franklin County Coroner’s Office ruled the incident a Homicide,” the department said. “The suspect in this Homicide was identified as Gregory Howard, 34.”

regory Howard was indicted on May 23, 2022, for murder, arson, and a number of other offenses. Gregory Howard is currently incarcerated in the Franklin County Jail on a related robbery offense.
