Suspect in custody for shooting in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department have made an arrest in connection with a shooting that took place in Northeast, D.C. on Thursday afternoon.

The victim was approached by the suspects seated in a vehicle at the 4600 block of Polk Street at around 2:40 pm. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot the victim before both suspects fled in the vehicle. The victim survived the incident but was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening.

30-year-old Jamal Coleman, of D.C. was arrested on Friday and charged with the shooting.
