Suspect in Deadly Severn Shooting At Large

SEVERN, MD — The Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of June 14, 2024. Officers responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 7:19 PM in the 1600 block of Meade Village Circle.

Upon arrival, officers found 34-year-old Keion McKinney of Severn, MD, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds behind a building. McKinney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary information gathered by CID Homicide Detectives, who have taken over the investigation, suggests that McKinney was shot by a male suspect after exiting a townhome. The suspect fled the scene immediately following the shooting. Authorities believe this was a targeted incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department urges anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward and assist with the investigation. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
