Frostburg man arrested in Ellerslie robbery held without bail

CUMBERLAND, Md. — A 22-year-old Frostburg man has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery at a business in Ellerslie, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.

Eric Jerome Gamble Jr. was taken into custody without incident earlier in the day following an investigation by the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigations Unit (C3I). Authorities said the robbery occurred around 10:06 a.m. Monday at an unspecified business in the small Allegany County community.

Gamble was served with a District Court arrest warrant and taken before a District Court Commissioner, who ordered him held without bail.

The case was handled through a joint effort involving the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland Police Department, Frostburg Police Department, Frostburg State University Police, Maryland State Police, and the Allegany County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Officials have not released additional details about the robbery or what led investigators to identify Gamble as a suspect.
