EDGEWATER, MD – On Thursday, Wilber Oswaldo Nunez Menendez, a 25-year-old resident of Crownsville, was extradited from El Salvador to Maryland for his alleged involvement in a 2020 double shooting in Edgewater.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Major Crimes Section had previously identified Menendez as the prime suspect in the incident, which resulted in one death and another non-fatal injury.

The extradition followed a lengthy investigation into the shooting, which occurred on November 14, 2020.

Menendez is now facing a range of charges, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
