Suspect Shoots at Two People, Misses Inside Car in Southwest Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA – A suspect is being sought by police in Philadelphia after a June shooting. This week, police released surveillance video of the subject in an attempt to solicit the public to help identify him.

The police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on June 17th, 2022, in Southwest Philadelphia. It happened shortly before 6:00 PM along the 1800 block of South 54th Street. Surveillance cameras in the area show the offender walk by a blue Dodge Charger. He then turns back, attempts to open the front passenger door, before firing a shot into the windshield of the vehicle. The vehicle flees the scene. There were two people inside. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, 30-40 years old, about 5’8” tall with a thin build. He had a beard and afro style haircut. He was wearing a green Eagles “Underdog” t-shirt, jeans, multicolored sneakers and armed with a semiautomatic handgun.
