Suspect Sought After Elderly Woman Punched on E Train Near Lexington Avenue Station

Police say a 65-year-old woman was punched in the face during a dispute aboard a Manhattan-bound E train.

Manhattan, NY – Police are searching for a suspect accused of assaulting a woman aboard a subway train in Midtown earlier this week.

The incident occurred around 9:08 a.m. Tuesday on a southbound E train approaching the 53 Street–Lexington Avenue station within the confines of the NYPD’s 17th Precinct and Transit District 4.

Dispute escalates aboard train

According to investigators, the 65-year-old victim became involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual while riding the train.

Police said the suspect then punched the woman in the face during the confrontation.

Authorities said the individual exited the train near the 53 Street–Lexington Avenue station and fled on foot to parts unknown.

Police have not released a description of the suspect as the investigation continues.
