Suspect sought in attempted bank robbery at Citi Bank in Midtown

NEW YORK — Police are searching for an individual who attempted to rob a Citi Bank branch in Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. at the Citi Bank located at 205 East 42nd Street. According to police, the suspect passed a note to a teller demanding cash.

No money was taken during the attempted robbery, and the individual fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on Third Avenue.

Authorities reported no injuries related to the incident, and the suspect remains unidentified.

The NYPD is continuing its investigation and urges anyone with information to come forward.
