Suspected Arrested For Shooting Near Elementary School

TOWSON, MD – The Baltimore County Police Department has apprehended 29-year-old Matthew Okumodi for his alleged involvement in a non-fatal shooting incident.

The incident took place on Tuesday, October 24, in the vicinity of Edmondson Heights Elementary School.

Okumodi is currently held at the Baltimore County Detention Center, facing multiple charges including attempted murder and firearms-related offenses.

Officers were dispatched to the playground area of the school following reports of gunfire at approximately 3:35 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found a teenage male with a gunshot wound. Investigations are ongoing, and the department asks anyone with information to come forward.
