Suspects caught on camera in fatal Northeast D.C. shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Surveillance footage of suspects linked to a deadly shooting in Northeast Washington, D.C., was released Thursday as investigators work to solve the killing of a 28-year-old man earlier this month.

The incident took place on Friday, November 1, at approximately 3:54 a.m., in the 100 block of 44th Street, Northeast. Officers arrived to find Dwaun Simpson, of Southeast D.C., unconscious with a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

Video evidence shows individuals believed to be connected to the crime, and officials are asking the public to assist in identifying them. The footage, released by investigators, can be viewed here: Surveillance video of suspects.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered by the Metropolitan Police Department for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
