Suspicious vehicle investigation leads to gun charge

Edgewater, Maryland – Police officers investigating a suspicious vehicle on Saturday made an arrest after an officer spotted a black Nissan Altima parked in Edgewater Park, which was closed at the time.

The vehicle was occupied by a male and a female, who were subsequently taken into custody. A search of the car, conducted with probable cause, led to the discovery of a loaded .38 caliber handgun.

The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 21-year-old Raishaun Taleek Mason and 20-year-old Jomeka Jay-Niya Neal, both residents of Annapolis.

Following the discovery of the weapon, authorities promptly arrested and charged them accordingly.
