CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department on Thursday arrested Kevin Allen Mauch, 32, of Paw Paw, West Virginia. According to police, Mauch was spotted in a vehicle stopped at an intersection acting suspiciously when police initiated a traffic stop.

“On Thursday, May 5, 2022, at approximately 8:44 AM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department was patrolling the area of Bedford Street at Centre Street when he observed a suspicious vehicle stopped at the intersection for an extended period of time,” the Cumberland Police Department said. “The vehicle then proceeded into a controlled-access parking lot with a clearly posted “No Trespassing” sign and parked. The officer contacted the occupants who exited the vehicle and began to walk around the parking lot. The officer conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle.”

According to a police report, the officer located controlled CDS paraphernalia, CDS paraphernalia, a package of a controlled dangerous substance, and a wrapper containing a different suspected controlled dangerous substance. As a result, one of the occupants, Kevin Allen Mauck, was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.

Police said Mauck was then transported to Central Booking and seen by a District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance. He was released on his personal recognizance.
