The early morning operation led to the successful execution of 11 warrants against Moore, 8 of which were felonies. These charges were predominantly related to a shooting incident injuring a 19-year-old woman.

The Newport News Police Department initially responded to gunshots on March 21, at the 800 block of Roam Court. The subsequent investigation revealed that three homes had been damaged by gunfire. As the officers were collecting evidence, they learned of a shooting victim – a 19-year-old woman – who had arrived at a local hospital.

The result of their investigation led to several charges against Moore, including shooting with intent to maim, firearm possession by a convicted felon, firearm use in a felony commission, reckless firearm handling, and multiple counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Additionally, Moore was served three warrants pertaining to a domestic assault incident that took place on April 13. These charges include assault, assault on a family member, and issuing a bomb/burn threat. Police Chief Steve Drew commended the SWAT team, detectives, and officers who successfully arrested Moore without any hitches.
