86-year-old Man arrested for Murdering Elderly wife in Queens

QUEENS, NY – In an update to an ongoing investigation, detectives with the NYPD’s 102nd Precinct have arrested and charged Ovidio Porras, an 86-year-old male resident of Queens, on Thursday, at around 8:40 pm. Porras is accused of murdering his wife. His current charges include murder, tampering with physical evidence, and criminal contempt. The arrest comes in response to police responding to a 911 call on Wednesday, at about 8:20 pm. The police were called to 91-30 91 Street after reports of an unconscious individual, an elderly woman. SELBYVILLE, DE – Police in Delaware have issued a gold alert for a 86-year-old man who went missing in Selbyville on Thanksgiving. John Vittek, 86, of Selbyville, Delaware, is the subject of a Gold Alert issued by Delaware State Police Troop 4. John was last seen in Selbyville on Thursday. He has been unable to be contacted or located, and his safety and well-being are in doubt. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’11” tall and weighing 170 pounds. 86-year-old D.C. killed in Oxon Hill crash

OXON HILL, MD – An 86-year-old man was killed in a four-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon. Police identified the man as James Charles Johnson of Washington, D.C. Police said Johnson’s vehicle was struck by an oncoming vehicle on Livingston Road when he veered into his lane of traffic, crossing a double line. His vehicle then struck another vehicle. The other drivers did not report serious injuries. Johnson was rushed to the hospital, where he died from his injuries the following day.

TOMS RIVER, NJ – An 86-year-old woman crashed into St. Justin’s Church in Toms River. According to police, her vehicle became airborne before colliding with the structure. The Toms River Police Department reported that on on Thursday, at approximately 10:25 AM police and EMS units were dispatched to St. Justin’s Church on Fischer Blvd for a reported vehicle into the building. The driver was identified as Frances Baranowski, 86 of Brick. Justice Not Served: 86-Year-Old Deal Man Admits to Molesting Minor Multiple Times Over Course of 10 Years

FREEHOLD (PRESS RELEASE) – A Deal resident will spend the rest of his life as a registered sex offender under parole supervision after admitting to having sexual contact with a child at various times over the course of about a decade, starting about 25 years ago, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced Wednesday. He will not be serving any prison time. Hal Sitt, 86, was sentenced late last month by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Jill O’Malley. He will also be made to serve five years of probation and pay slightly more than $134,000 in restitution to the victim.
