Brooklyn Man Receives 10-Year Sentence for Subway Assault

**Brooklyn, NY** – A Brooklyn man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for attacking a stranger on a subway with a kitchen knife and then repeatedly kicking him. The assault followed a verbal exchange where the victim asked the attacker to lower his voice.

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the sentence handed down to 33-year-old Sadam Adames of Brownsville. Adames received his sentence from Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Heidi Cesare on Monday. He was convicted of first-degree attempted assault last month after a jury trial.

The incident occurred on September 13, 2022, at approximately 12:40 p.m. on a number 2 train traveling through Brooklyn. Adames, who was screaming profanities into his phone, was asked by a 49-year-old passenger to quiet down, leading to the violent altercation.

Adames attempted to stab the victim in the stomach but ended up stabbing him in the back during a struggle. The victim fell to the floor after being knocked onto the seats, where he was kicked in the face multiple times. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before he was taken to Methodist Hospital for further care.

Assault Incident Leads to Arrest in Wilkes-Barre

**Wilkes-Barre, PA** – On Monday, Wilkes-Barre City Police responded to a hospital report of an assault victim in the emergency room.

The incident, recorded under IRC number 240228672, occurred on October 21st at 9:26 PM, at North River Street. The individuals involved were the 33-year-old defendant, Malcolm Perry from Wilkes-Barre, and a 32-year-old female victim also from Wilkes-Barre.

According to police, the altercation began when the victim and Perry were at a Sheetz location. The situation escalated in the victim’s vehicle, where Perry allegedly damaged the car’s rearview mirror and struck the victim multiple times while driving through Wilkes-Barre.

The victim managed to drop Perry off at his residence before seeking medical attention at the hospital. After receiving treatment for her injuries, the police took Perry into custody, and he was later taken to City Headquarters for arraignment.

Attempted Robbery and Assault Reported in Pittsburgh

**Pittsburgh, PA** – Zone 6 officers responded to an incident on the 3300 block of Allendale Street on Sunday involving an attempted robbery and assault. The victim reported the event occurred after her arrival home from work, shortly past 3:45 a.m.

According to the victim, two males approached her as she parked her vehicle on the parking pad behind her residence. One male attempted to steal her purse from behind, pulling on the strap around her neck. The suspect struck her on the head with an open hand, knocking off her glasses, while trying to seize the purse.

The assailant eventually abandoned the attempt and fled with the second male, retreating down Felbinger Way towards Stanhope Street. The victim declined medical care following the incident.

The suspect is described as a young male, about 5’5″ tall, thin, donning a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes with a red Nike logo. Authorities request anyone with information or video evidence to contact Zone 6 plainclothes detectives at (412) 937-3051.

**WILKES-BARRE, PA** – An assault was reported in Wilkes-Barre on October 17th, involving 45-year-old Alex Vigo from Hanover Township and a 39-year-old victim from Wilkes-Barre.

The incident occurred at South Main Street at 12:55 PM. Officers arrived after being dispatched to the South Main Plaza, where they contacted the victim.

According to the victim, Vigo approached her, stated a threatening remark, and tried to hit her with a collapsible baton. She protected herself by blocking the assault with her arm, and Vigo then fled the scene.

The victim informed officers that Vigo was a former roommate whom she had evicted. Vigo was subsequently found and taken into custody near 15 South Main Street, transported to City Headquarters for processing, and held for arraignment.

Cumberland Police Report Assault and Theft Incidents

**Cumberland, MD** – The Cumberland City Police responded to two separate incidents involving assault and theft on Thursday. Both incidents resulted in arrests and subsequent legal proceedings.

On Thursday at approximately 4:45 PM, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Bond Street for an assault report. They made contact with the victim who reported being assaulted by Brendan O’Toole. Officers noted injuries consistent with the victim’s account, and O’Toole was arrested and taken to the Allegany County Detention Center. He was later released on personal recognizance.

In a separate incident on the same day at about 6:30 AM, police responded to a theft complaint at a business on the 400 block of Virginia Avenue. The manager reported that Logan Frye had stolen items and fled, despite being previously banned from the premises. Officers found Frye nearby, arrested him, and he was held on a $1,000 bond after a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.
