Veterans Park Temporary Closure Announced for Police Training

**Galloway, NJ** – Veterans Park, located at 636 S. New York Road, will be closed to the public for police training exercises. The park closure will occur today between noon and 4:30 PM.

This closure will also take place every Tuesday throughout November, maintaining the same hours of operation, from noon to 4:30 PM.

The Galloway Township Police Department is conducting the training exercises at the venue. They have expressed their gratitude to the public for their understanding during this time.

Authorities have apologized for any inconvenience caused by the temporary park closure. The purpose of the training is to enhance police operations in the township.

Atlantic City Police Uncover Stolen Firearms

**Atlantic City, NJ** – The Atlantic City Police Department concluded an investigation on Thursday into illegal firearm possession, yielding an arrest and recovery of weapons.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Section and the SWAT Team conducted a court-authorized search at a residence on the 1600 block of Adriatic Avenue. The search resulted in the arrest of Qumar Gilliam-Winborn Jr. Police recovered two handguns and five pounds of marijuana from the residence. Both handguns had been reported stolen in Washington DC and North Carolina, with one modified to be fully automatic.

Detective Eric Evans led the investigation. The 19-year-old suspect, Gilliam-Winborn, is facing multiple charges. These include unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a high capacity magazine, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, and money laundering, among others.

He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty. The public is encouraged to provide information regarding this incident to the Atlantic City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit via phone or anonymous text.
