Suspect in Boston Murder Case Arrested

**Boston, MA** – On Friday at around 4:45 PM, members of the Fugitive Unit apprehended Rasheedah Hughes, 40, of Boston near Hammond Street. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant related to the murder of Celia Simmons, 65, of Boston. Hughes is scheduled to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court on Monday, December 23.

The initial incident occurred on Saturday, November 16, at 12:48 PM, when officers from District D-4 (South End/Back Bay) were dispatched to a stabbing at Ramsey Park, 1917 Washington St. Upon their arrival, they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Boston EMS transported the victim to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The victim was identified as Celia Simmons.

**BOSTON, MA** – On Tuesday at approximately 8:06 PM, officers from District C-6 responded to 8 Reverend Richard A Burke Street following reports of a shooting incident. Upon their arrival, they discovered an adult female with a gunshot wound. Emergency medical assistance was immediately provided, and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Ballistic evidence was recovered at the scene.

**Boston, MA** – Police officers assigned to the Auto Theft Unit responded to a situation involving late night revelers in various Boston neighborhoods on Friday. They received an Officer in Trouble call near 485 Canterbury Street, where they observed around 80 vehicles gathered.

As attendees began to leave, officers documented vehicle registrations using body worn cameras and addressed auto law violations. Their actions resulted in motor vehicle citation enforcement for all vehicles at the scene.

**Boston, MA** – On Friday at approximately 11:37 PM, police officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) and District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) arrested three individuals: Alan Ridenour, 19, of Marlboro, Mario Florian, 19, of Ashland, and Geraldo Colon, 21, of Framingham.

Officers responded to a distress call at 485 Canterbury Street where an officer was reportedly trapped in his vehicle with individuals jumping on it. Upon their arrival, over one hundred vehicles blocked Canterbury Street. Officers began searching for the officer and, once found, the crowd dispersed.

The officer, who declined medical attention, described being obstructed by several cars and having his vehicle swiped by another. A suspect was observed entering a car without a front license plate, and upon confrontation, tried to flee in the vehicle nearly hitting officers.

During a search, a firearm, three different license plates, and key fobs were discovered. Officers also encountered a different vehicle parked off-road. Further investigation revealed it was stolen, and a firearm and two stolen plates were found inside.

**Boston, MA** – On Thursday at approximately 5:50 PM, officers from District B-2 in Roxbury arrested O’Keif Mark, 22, of Waltham, for receiving stolen property.

During patrol near Warren Street, officers conducted an inquiry on a vehicle linked to a Brookline incident. They initiated a traffic stop using emergency lights and sirens.

The vehicle’s operator initially refused to lower his window and locked the doors but eventually complied. Officers later asked the operator to exit the vehicle, leading to his temporary non-compliance and an attempt to leave, resulting in a struggle and arrest.

Officers discovered three envelopes with checks bearing multiple names, a Glock-style BB gun, HEET water remover, and brake fluid in the vehicle. A total of 236 fraudulent checks valued at $389,808 were also seized. Mark faces charges of Receiving Stolen Property over $1,200 and Threats to Commit a Crime, with arraignment expected in Roxbury District Court.
