Cumberland Police Make Arrests in Fugitive and DUI Cases

**Cumberland, MD** – The Cumberland Police Department arrested two individuals on Thursday, November 7, on separate charges, including a fugitive from justice and a DUI incident.

Irron Lateef Daye, 46, of Cumberland, was arrested on charges of being a fugitive from justice, following the discovery of an open bench warrant from Monongalia County, WV. The warrant accused Daye of failing to appear in court for a CDS distribution charge. He was presented before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance and was subsequently remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is held without bond, awaiting extradition to West Virginia.

Additionally, the police responded to a report of a suspicious individual in a vehicle at the intersection of Second St and Seymour St. The officers found Joseph Robert Benson III, 40, also of Cumberland, passed out in a running Honda passenger vehicle. Upon investigation, suspected CDS was observed inside the vehicle, leading to further inquiries. Benson was ordered out of the vehicle, resisted arrest, and attempted to escape but was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Multiple Arrests in Cumberland for Various Offenses

On Saturday, the Cumberland Police Department made several arrests involving charges ranging from court violations to drug possession. Devin Terrell Joyner, 45, of Cumberland, was apprehended following an active Bench Warrant from Allegany County Circuit Court issued on October 23. The warrant accused Joyner of breaching a court order related to a past assault conviction, and Joyner is now being held at the Allegany County Detention Center without bond. During his arrest, authorities discovered suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, and MDMA in his possession, resulting in multiple criminal citations for CDS possession.

In a separate incident on the same day, police responded to a reported assault at a residence in the 500 block of Essex Place. Officers interviewed the victim, who showed visible facial injuries and claimed the argument started over a purse. The suspect, Janell Marie Coffman, 35, allegedly struck the victim in the face. Coffman was subsequently arrested and later released on a $2,500 unsecured bond after her initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

Cumberland Police Make Multiple Arrests

**Cumberland, MD -** The Cumberland Police Department reported a series of arrests in recent days involving assaults, resisting arrest, failure to appear, and impaired driving.

On Tuesday, officers responded to the 700 Block of East First Street to a fight. Shellie Manning, Brian James, and Angel Page were arrested for allegedly assaulting a female victim. They were charged with first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and false imprisonment. All three suspects were held at the Allegany County Detention Center.

On the same day, officers were called to Boone Street for a domestic disturbance involving Dion Alves. Alves was arrested after reportedly appearing under the influence and acting disorderly. He faces charges including obstructing and hindering, resisting arrest, and CDS possession.

On Wednesday, police served an arrest warrant on Michael Haymond for failing to appear for a trial regarding CDS possession from April. Haymond was taken to the detention center awaiting his court appearance.

Additional arrests include Jacqualine Clay for DUI and David Gearing for impaired driving and CDS possession in separate incidents. Clay was released pending trial, while Gearing received citations and is awaiting trial.

Officers arrived on the scene after receiving a report of an ongoing assault. They spoke with several involved parties and witnesses present at the location. The situation started with an argument over a pool game, which escalated into a physical altercation. No one was injured during the fight.

While officers were on-site, a woman disrupted the street, refusing to listen to instructions to stop. Consequently, Misty Dawn Jenkins, 47, of Cumberland, was arrested. She was later issued a Criminal Citation for disorderly conduct and released, pending a trial in District Court.

**Cumberland, MD – Law Enforcement Agencies Apprehend Suspects with Outstanding Warrants**

Collaborative efforts between the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police – Barrack C led to the arrest of several individuals with outstanding warrants on Wednesday, October 22. These efforts targeted open and active warrants to maintain community safety.

Anthony Michael McCullough, 55, from Lavale, was arrested on a Maryland State Police District Court Arrest Warrant for stalking. He was subsequently released on a $15,000 unsecured personal bond from Central Booking. Eric Lynn Clark Jr., aged 33, from Oldtown, was apprehended on a District Court Bench Warrant for violating a protective order. Clark is currently held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Bruce Allen Williams, 27, from Cumberland, faced a Circuit Court Bench Warrant for pretrial release violations and failure to comply with probation terms. Initially convicted for illegal possession of a regulated firearm, receiving a three-year sentence with all but eight months suspended, along with three years of supervised probation, Williams remains detained without bond. Cumberland Police Report Assault and Theft Incidents

**Cumberland, MD** – The Cumberland City Police responded to two separate incidents involving assault and theft on Thursday. Both incidents resulted in arrests and subsequent legal proceedings.

On Thursday at approximately 4:45 PM, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Bond Street for an assault report. They made contact with the victim who reported being assaulted by Brendan O’Toole. Officers noted injuries consistent with the victim’s account, and O’Toole was arrested and taken to the Allegany County Detention Center. He was later released on personal recognizance.

In a separate incident on the same day at about 6:30 AM, police responded to a theft complaint at a business on the 400 block of Virginia Avenue. The manager reported that Logan Frye had stolen items and fled, despite being previously banned from the premises. Officers found Frye nearby, arrested him, and he was held on a $1,000 bond after a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.
