Florida deputy turned storm chaser as tornado touched down south near Marco Island

MARCO ISLAND, FL – A large tornado touched down in Collier County Sunday morning and one deputy made sure drivers were aware as he was driving toward Marco Island. At approximately 9:18 on Sunday, Cpl. Eric Kincaid was traveling south on Collier Boulevard toward Marco Island. As he approached the Manatee Road intersection he spotted a tornado traveling north toward U.S. 41. Cpl. Kincaid turned on his emergency lights, made a U-turn at the traffic signal and followed the tornado at a safe distance to ensure that motorists in the area were aware of it. An endangered tiger was shot and killed after he attacked a man at a Naples, Florida, zoo, according to officials. Attorney General Alan Wilson announces indictments against Marlboro Co. Sheriff and former deputy

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – Attorney General Alan Wilson announced today that a Marlboro County grand jury has indicted Marlboro County Sheriff Charles Lemon and former Deputy David Andrew Cook. Both are charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature and Misconduct in Office (Common Law). The indictments allege that on or about May 3, 2020, Sheriff Lemon ordered then-Deputy Cook to deploy his taser on Jarrel Lee Johnson at the Marlboro County Detention Center and unlawfully continued to activate the taser at least two times after the initial taser deployment to subdue the suspect while inside the jail.

Chief Deputy of Worth County Sheriff’s Office arrested for cruelty to children

Sylvester, GA (November 16, 2021) – On Monday, November 15, 2021, the GBI arrested Worth County Chief Deputy Raymond Drennen, age 60, and charged him with one count of Violation of Oath by Public Officer, one count of Terroristic Threats and Acts, and one count of Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree.  Worth County Sheriff Don Whittaker asked the GBI to investigate a domestic incident that happened at Drennen’s home.  Sheriff Whittaker made the request earlier in the day. Ocala, Florida – Kenyari Devaughnte Brewton (26, Ocala), a former deputy with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, has pleaded guilty to two federal felonies: (1) making a materially false statement during the purchase of a firearm and (2) causing a federal firearms licensee to maintain false information in its official records.
