Delaware State Police Arrests Man for Drug Charges

**New Castle, DE** – The Delaware State Police have arrested Jermaine Johnson, a 45-year-old resident of New Castle, for felony drug dealing charges. This arrest was part of a multi-jurisdictional investigation conducted in partnership with the New Jersey Salem County Prosecutor’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations in Delaware.

On Tuesday, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a property on Constitution Boulevard in New Castle. The warrant was issued after an investigation into Johnson’s alleged distribution of narcotics in New Jersey and Delaware. During the search, Johnson attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended.

Officers discovered 851 grams of cocaine, multiple ammunition rounds, digital scales, pots, packaging materials, and $5,706 believed to be proceeds from drug dealing at the residence. Johnson, who is a convicted felon not allowed to possess ammunition, was taken to Troop 2 and charged with various felonies, including drug possession and paraphernalia charges.

West Goshen Township Officer Faces Charges for Substance Theft

**West Chester, PA** – The Chester County District Attorney’s Office has announced the arrest of David Maurer, 55, a Detective Sergeant with the West Goshen Township Police Department. Maurer is accused of taking controlled substances for personal use from a medication collection box on Wednesday.

Maurer has been charged with Possession of Controlled Substances and Theft by Unlawful Taking. He was apprehended and arraigned on Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Martin Goch. Following his arraignment, Maurer was released on his own recognizance.

On the day of the incident, Maurer was tasked with emptying medication collection boxes at the West Goshen Township Police Department and Chester County Hospital. These boxes are part of a county program for the safe disposal of unwanted medications. Maurer allegedly retained several pill bottles containing controlled substances for himself rather than ensuring their proper disposal.

Traffic Stop in Mattapan Leads to Arrest and Seizure of Firearms and Drugs

**Boston, MA** — At 12:29 AM on Monday, officers from District B-3 in Mattapan conducted a traffic stop at Blue Hill Avenue and Mattapan Street. This led to the arrest of 38-year-old Jeffrey Salvant of Mattapan for firearm and drug-related offenses.

The officers observed a vehicle speeding on Blue Hill Avenue near American Legion Highway. Despite their attempt to stop the vehicle using lights and sirens, the driver continued for approximately half a mile before stopping.

Upon stopping, officers detected the smell of alcohol from the vehicle and noted open containers inside. Jeffrey Salvant, the driver, exhibited signs consistent with being under the influence and was found in possession of a spring-loaded switchblade and two loaded firearms.

A further search revealed a black range bag containing components of an AR-style firearm and a controlled substance suspected to be cocaine. Salvant was charged with multiple firearm and drug offenses, including carrying firearms without a license. He will face arraignment at Dorchester District Court. Additionally, Salvant was cited for several traffic violations, including driving under the influence.

Atlantic City Police Uncover Stolen Firearms

**Atlantic City, NJ** – The Atlantic City Police Department concluded an investigation on Thursday into illegal firearm possession, yielding an arrest and recovery of weapons.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Section and the SWAT Team conducted a court-authorized search at a residence on the 1600 block of Adriatic Avenue. The search resulted in the arrest of Qumar Gilliam-Winborn Jr. Police recovered two handguns and five pounds of marijuana from the residence. Both handguns had been reported stolen in Washington DC and North Carolina, with one modified to be fully automatic.

Detective Eric Evans led the investigation. The 19-year-old suspect, Gilliam-Winborn, is facing multiple charges. These include unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a high capacity magazine, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, and money laundering, among others.
