Motor Vehicle Accident Under Investigation in Gloucester Township

**Gloucester Township, NJ** – The Gloucester Township Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday at approximately 2:19 a.m. near the intersection of Sicklerville Road and Garwood Road. The incident involved a sedan and a tractor trailer, with the sedan becoming trapped under the trailer portion.

The driver and passenger of the sedan managed to exit the vehicle. While the driver was unharmed, the passenger sustained a broken arm and several lacerations. The sole occupant of the tractor trailer was not injured in the crash.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the sedan driver failed to notice the tractor trailer executing a left turn and attempted to illegally pass it, causing the sedan to become wedged under the trailer. The accident led to a diesel fuel leak from the trailer’s refrigeration tank, prompting a response from several local fire departments and hazard management teams.

As a result of the crash and the fuel leak, Sicklerville Road and Garwood Road were closed for several hours. The Gloucester Township Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
