On June 22 at 7:48 PM, a shooting was reported in the 400 block of Ross Avenue. Responders found Desmond Lane, 26, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit was called to investigate the incident.

Detectives identified 24-year-old Amir Johnson as the suspect in the case. A warrant was issued for his arrest following the investigation.

On Thursday evening, the Allegheny County Police Department’s SWAT team took Johnson into custody in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood. On the evening of September 23, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Seaside Heights Police responded to Dupont Avenue and the Boulevard for a report of a man lying in the roadway. Officers found Mr. Popovics unconscious with severe injuries and transported him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment.

An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Seaside Heights Police, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office determined that a dark-colored sedan struck Mr. Popovics and fled. Further investigations identified Mcinaw as the driver. She was initially charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury following her apprehension at her home.
