Allegheny County Police Arrest Homicide Suspect
**PITTSBURGH, PA** – Allegheny County Police have arrested a suspect connected to a homicide that occurred in Wilkinsburg.
On June 22 at 7:48 PM, a shooting was reported in the 400 block of Ross Avenue. Responders found Desmond Lane, 26, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit was called to investigate the incident.
Detectives identified 24-year-old Amir Johnson as the suspect in the case. A warrant was issued for his arrest following the investigation.
On Thursday evening, the Allegheny County Police Department’s SWAT team took Johnson into custody in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood. Johnson faces charges including homicide, robbery, and carrying a firearm without a license. He will be held at Allegheny County Jail until a preliminary arraignment.

21-Year-Old Arrested for Homicide in Schuylkill Township
**Schuylkill Township, PA** – Authorities reported the arrest of Holden Hoffsis, 21, from Phoenixville, for the alleged murder of his friend, Daniel Gray. The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Martinez died from blunt force trauma and ruled the death a homicide. Galeano-Soriano faces charges including first and second-degree murder.

Camden Man Arrested for Homicide Following Investigation
**Magnolia, DE** – The Delaware State Police have arrested Gregory Bratcher, a 63-year-old resident of Camden, Delaware, in connection with a homicide investigation in Magnolia.
On June 30, at approximately 4:59 p.m., police responded to a welfare check call in the 200 block of Apple Blossom Drive. Upon arrival, troopers discovered Marjeanne Lande, age 72, deceased inside the residence. The Division of Forensic Sciences later determined that Lande was a homicide victim.
Delaware State Police Detectives identified Lande’s boyfriend, Gregory Bratcher, as the suspect through their investigation. He was indicted by a Kent County Grand Jury on November 4.
On November 8, Bratcher was apprehended and charged with first-degree murder and strangulation, both felonies. After arraignment by Kent County Superior Court, he was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,000,000 cash bond.

Newport News Police Arrest Two in Connection to Homicide
**Newport News, VA** – The Newport News Police Department (NNPD) has made two arrests in connection to a homicide that occurred on Marshall Avenue earlier this month. On Friday, November 1, at approximately 10:24 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert on Marshall Avenue, discovering 24-year-old Mahleik Barber with gunshot wounds. Barber was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation led detectives to charge a 17-year-old juvenile male from Newport News, already in custody for an unrelated matter. On Tuesday, November 12, he was charged with second-degree murder, malicious wounding, and several firearm-related offenses related to Barber’s death.

New York Man Sentenced for Jersey City Homicide
**New York, NY** – Justin Goris, 20, from Queens, New York, has been sentenced to 15 years in New Jersey State Prison. This judgment was handed down for the death of Devin Bryant, a 15-year-old from Jersey City, which occurred in February 2022.
The sentencing was delivered on Monday by the Honorable Judge Mitchell Pascual. Goris had previously pleaded guilty to Aggravated Manslaughter on July 31. Under the No Early Release Act, Goris is ineligible for parole until 85 percent of his sentence is served.
The incident took place on February 12, 2022, when Jersey City Police responded to reports of gunshots at 112 Myrtle Avenue. Officials discovered Bryant with a gunshot wound, who was later declared dead at around 9:10 p.m. The medical examiner confirmed the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the abdomen and ruled it a homicide.
Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Dennis Murray represented the state in this case. Goris was initially charged as a juvenile but was later waived to the Criminal Division.

These charges are linked to an incident on September 23 in Seaside Heights that led to the death of Robert Popovics, 75, of Seaside Park.
On the evening of September 23, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Seaside Heights Police responded to Dupont Avenue and the Boulevard for a report of a man lying in the roadway. Officers found Mr. Popovics unconscious with severe injuries and transported him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment.
An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Seaside Heights Police, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office determined that a dark-colored sedan struck Mr. Popovics and fled. Further investigations identified Mcinaw as the driver. She was initially charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury following her apprehension at her home.
