Attorney General Announces Settlement with Gun Retailer Following Unlawful Sales

**TRENTON, NJ** – Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin announced that Point Blank Guns and Ammo LLC has reached a court-ordered settlement following a civil lawsuit. The lawsuit was a result of the store selling gun-related products to undercover investigators without verifying if the buyers could legally possess a firearm. This settlement is in accordance with the legislative requirements from July 2022 as per N.J.S.A. 2C:58-35.

The complaint, filed in November last year by Attorney General Platkin and the Statewide Affirmative Firearms Enforcement Office (SAFE), detailed two instances involving Point Blank. In March, the store sold a handgun ammunition magazine, and two months later, a 1,000-round case of .223 caliber ammunition, both to first-time buyers without demanding identification or permits.

Attorney General Platkin emphasized the importance of adhering to these laws to prevent unlawful practices that could lead to mass shootings. **Cape May County, NJ** – Cape May County authorities announced the arrest of Michael J. Lupacckino from Wildwood Crest in relation to sexual assault allegations. The joint investigation was carried out by the Wildwood Crest Police Department Detective Division and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Victims Unit.

On Monday, the Wildwood Crest Police Department received information about Lupacckino’s alleged involvement in multiple sexual assault incidents that commenced in October. Consequently, this led to the initiation of a combined investigative effort.

Investigations involved witness statements, forensic evidence, and search warrants at Lupacckino’s residence, culminating in charges including aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Lupacckino is currently detained at the Cape May County Correctional Facility as legal proceedings continue.

Fire at Frederick Street Under Investigation by Stamford Fire Marshal

**Stamford, CT** – On Wednesday at 7:47 pm, the Stamford Fire Department responded to a grill fire that had spread to the rear of a house at 28 Frederick Street.

Engine 4 from the Shippan firehouse reached the location in three minutes and observed heavy smoke from the back of the multifamily home. The crew extinguished the exterior blaze and detected that the fire had spread into the rear exterior wall, prompting the use of additional hoses inside the house.

The house’s occupants had evacuated on their own. Firefighters rescued a dog from the second floor, unharmed. The fire was declared under control at 8:34 pm with no reported injuries.

Due to the significant damage caused, the American Red Cross assisted in relocating two families. The incident brought 35 firefighters, command, and support personnel, with scene support from Stamford EMS and Stamford PD. The fire’s cause is under investigation by the Stamford Fire Marshal’s office.
