Investigation Launched into Fatal Shooting in Upper Marlboro

**Upper Marlboro, MD** – The Prince George’s County Police Department is looking into a fatal shooting last Tuesday in Upper Marlboro, which resulted in the death of 57-year-old Joseph Campbell.

On Tuesday, at approximately 8:55 a.m., police responded to a report on the 14200 block of Barenton Drive. Upon arrival, they found Campbell in a garage with gunshot injuries, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigations indicate that Campbell and his alleged shooter were acquaintances. The shooter remained at the location and is cooperating with law enforcement, although no charges have been laid as authorities confer with the State’s Attorney’s Office.

Title: Investigation Launched into Capitol Heights Fatal Shooting

**CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD** – Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Morris Haskins Jr. from Washington, DC.

On Friday at approximately 5:50 PM, Maryland-National Capital Park Police and PGPD officers were dispatched to a park located in the 7700 block of Walker Mill Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Haskins was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead the following day, Saturday.

Detectives are currently working to identify any potential suspects and determine a motive for the shooting. The Prince George’s County Police Department is responsible for investigating all homicides within the jurisdiction of Maryland-National Capital Park Police.

**Suitland, MD** – Prince George’s County Police Department officers and detectives responded to an incident on Suitland Road involving a school bus carrying elementary students. On Thursday at approximately 2:05 PM, a 911 call reported a man boarding the bus. Officers arrived promptly, stopping the bus by 2:09 PM and confirming the students’ safety while noting that the man was no longer aboard.

Initial findings indicate that the bus driver transported the man to Washington, DC, before returning to Prince George’s County. The driver is believed to be acquainted or related to the man. Prior to the bus boarding, the man was allegedly involved in a dispute with another individual on Suitland Road. During the altercation, the suspect may have been armed, although the weapon was not taken onto the bus.
