TOKYO (Reuters) -Japan said on Monday it scrambled jet fighters and dispatched aircraft and warships over the past two weeks to keep tabs on China’s Liaoning aircraft carrier and five warships that conducted naval manoeuvres and flight operations in the Pacific. EU crop monitor sees Ukraine maize crop down 24% on year

New York State Police Continue to Monitor and Minnewaska Wildfire

ULSTER COUNTY, NY – The National Guard was deployed on Tuesday to assist in battling the 150 acre Minnewaska Wildfire. The New York State Police Aviation pilots also continue to provide aerial support for the wildfire that’s burning in Minnewaska State Park in Ulster County. Two State Police Huey helicopters have been working 6-8 hours per day since Sunday, dropping up to 180 buckets of water each day. Each bucket holds up to 300 gallons.
