East Orange Man Faces Additional Murder Charge

**Guttenberg, NJ** – The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has filed another murder charge against Lamont Cole of East Orange following the deaths of two men in Guttenberg.

Previously, Cole faced a murder charge related to the death of Justo Bory, 87, from Guttenberg. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office’s post-mortem report for Ricardo Bory, 58, determined his death resulted from homicidal violence. Consequently, Cole now faces two counts of murder under N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1)/(2).

On November 23, shortly after 10 p.m., Guttenberg Police were alerted to two unresponsive males at 209 71st Street. Identified as Justo and Ricardo Bory, both men were pronounced dead at the scene. During the initial investigation, Cole was arrested for interference and has since been held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

Multiple Vehicle Burglaries Lead to Arrest in West Orange

**West Orange, NJ** – The Township experienced multiple vehicle burglaries on Monday and Tuesday evenings at Essex Green Shopping Plaza, specifically the parking lot of LA Fitness and other areas of the shopping plaza. Detective Austin Vanderhoof led the investigation with minimal evidence available at the crime scenes.

The West Orange Police Department worked with law enforcement from Verona and Cedar Grove Police Departments. Through video analysis and intelligence sharing, Detective Vanderhoof successfully identified the suspect. His methods included surveillance, interviews, and searches.

On December 2, Hakir Hodges, 28, from Newark, NJ, was charged in connection with these incidents. He faces eight counts related to burglary and theft from motor vehicles, and two counts of attempted burglary.

Hodges is currently held at Essex County Correctional Facility. Further details on the case have not been released at this time.

District Attorney Announces Guilty Plea in Arson Case

**Orange County, NY** – Tyler Williams, a 26-year-old from Middletown, has pled guilty to second-degree arson in Orange County Court. The case was overseen by Judge Craig Stephen Brown, where it was announced that the prosecution will recommend a 20-year prison sentence followed by five years of post-release supervision for Williams.

The initial incident occurred on December 20, 2023, when Williams received traffic tickets from a New York State Trooper in Middletown. Early the next morning, a fire was ignited at the home of the Trooper’s father in Warwick. First responders included the Town of Warwick Police, Orange County Fire Investigation Unit, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

An extensive investigation conducted by the Town of Warwick Police, the New York State Police Major Crimes Unit, and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office led to Williams’ arrest. More than 20 search warrants were executed, largely focusing on digital evidence, alongside numerous subpoenas. Williams admitted to starting the fire, knowing people were inside the home.
