ICE arrests convicted child sex offender and repeat re-entry illegal in New York
NEW YORK — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Axel Ramirez-Hernandez, a 32-year-old Guatemalan national, in Spring Valley on Wednesday. He was taken into custody on a criminal warrant for illegal reentry after deportation. Ramirez-Hernandez has prior convictions for sexual assault of a minor and illegal reentry into the United States. “ICE is committed to apprehending predators who commit horrific acts of violence against our youngest citizens and residents,” said William P. Joyce, acting field office director for ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in New York City. Authorities say Ramirez-Hernandez first entered the U.S. illegally at an unknown time
