Police Solve Two Robberies in Anne Arundel County

**Anne Arundel County, MD** – Investigations by Anne Arundel County Police have led to charges against suspects in two separate commercial robberies in the county.

On November 17, at approximately 12:40 a.m., officers responded to a robbery at Royal Farms on Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie. A man requested cigarettes from a clerk, implied possession of a weapon, took the cigarettes, and fled. Despite a search, the suspect was not found.

On Tuesday, police identified and charged Joshua Lazenby, 37, of Pasadena, for the Royal Farms robbery. This development followed a detailed investigation by the Robbery Unit.

In a separate incident on November 2, at 12:15 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at an Exxon Station on Annapolis Road in Odenton. The suspect threatened an employee with a knife, stole merchandise, and escaped. Police confirmed no injuries from this incident.

The authorities have charged a 16-year-old male from Odenton for the Exxon Station robbery. These charges were made following the investigative work completed by the Robbery Unit detectives.

**Brooklyn, NY** – A Queens man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for committing three violent robberies in Brooklyn. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced that the defendant, Dupreme Williams, aged 43 from Far Rockaway, pleaded guilty to robbery last month.

Williams was handed the seven-year prison sentence by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Jane Tully, along with five years of post-release supervision. The plea followed his admission to second-degree robbery charges on October 29.

The incidents, as detailed in the investigation, commenced on February 13, 2014. At approximately 8:15 a.m., Williams attacked a 50-year-old woman at Flatbush Avenue Extension and Fleet Street, taking her AirPods after assaulting her. Subsequently, at around 9:45 a.m., he assaulted a 73-year-old man on a southbound F train at the York Street subway, taking the victim’s cell phone.

**Paterson, NJ -** The Paterson Police Department announced the arrest of a suspect linked to six robberies occurring in one day. Officer in Charge Isa Abbassi coordinated the operation, involving the Major Crimes Unit and Patrol Division.

On October 6, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., six robberies took place on Summer Street, 22nd Avenue, Main Street, Paterson Avenue, and McBride Avenue. The suspect reportedly wielded a semi-automatic handgun, demanding cash and sneakers from the victims.

Around 1:48 p.m., Totowa Police Department informed Paterson officers about a vehicle matching the suspect’s description. The suspect, identified as Justin Rodriguez, 25, was apprehended after attempting to flee and assaulting an officer. A search revealed a semi-automatic handgun and a 50-round drum magazine.

Rodriguez faces multiple charges, including six counts of robbery, weapon possession offenses, and assault on a law enforcement officer. He awaits prosecution by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, with charges presuming innocence until proven guilty.
