HAGERSTOWN, MD — A Maryland 911 dispatcher is being celebrated for her role in safely guiding the delivery of a baby girl during an emergency call earlier this month. Bethani Mummert, an Emergency Communications Specialist with Washington County’s 911 Communications Center, received the call on Nov. 13, just before 8:30 a.m., when a woman in labor required immediate assistance. Remaining calm and composed, Mummert reassured the caller while dispatching Emergency Medical Services and providing step-by-step instructions over the phone.
