Port Jervis, NY –
Port Jervis authorities, including Police Chief William Worden, announced the arrest of Enido Isaac Rumaldo, 20, for selling over 2.2 ounces of cocaine to an undercover officer. The arrest occurred on Monday at around 3:10 PM on King Street, following a lengthy investigation into narcotics trafficking in the area. The suspect allegedly exchanged the cocaine for $4,000, hiding the money before being detained.
Besides the drug possession charge, Rumaldo faces charges for using drug paraphernalia, as items like scales and packaging materials were found in the Cadillac he was driving. The investigation was supported by the Orange County Drug Task Force and Middletown Police Department, involving undercover operations with increasing drug purchases. Rumaldo is scheduled to appear in court in Port Jervis on October 21.
Law enforcement agencies collaborated on the investigation, including police departments from Wallkill and Montgomery, District Attorney offices from Orange and Pike counties, and several crime analysis units. In addition to Orange County charges, Pike County is also investigating Rumaldo.
Statements from regional law enforcement underscore the multi-agency effort and commitment to tackling narcotics trafficking in the region. The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Alexis
