West Roxbury Officers Arrest South Boston Man on Firearm Charges

**Boston, MA** – On Wednesday, at approximately 12:45 PM, officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury) arrested Brendan Donovan, 45, of South Boston, on multiple firearm-related charges.

A detective on patrol observed a person on a scooter, who was carrying a duffel bag, run a red light in the area of Centre Street and Lorette Street. The scooter continued onto the sidewalk towards Temple Street and parked at 7 Spring Street.

The detective also noticed two masked individuals walking from the same location and tracked them as they met Donovan behind an unoccupied van in a parking lot. The detective and a beat officer approached the group, whereupon a firearm was seen in Donovan’s waistband; it was later identified as a less lethal CO2 firearm.

Additional officers arrived, removed Donovan from the scooter, and checked the duffle bag, discovering an AR-15 Camouflage Assault Rifle and a bag of Fentanyl. Donovan was arrested and will face several charges in West Roxbury District Court, including unlawful firearm possession and possession of class A substances.

Stolen Firearms Recovered After Altercation in South Stafford

**Stafford, VA** – Two juveniles were detained in South Stafford following an altercation that led to the discovery of stolen firearms. On Thursday at approximately 6:06 p.m., Sergeant J.D. Hurt, along with Deputies S.C. Steinway, M.A. Holub, and S.T. Myers, responded to Ridgemore Street due to a reported fight in progress.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers observed the suspects fleeing into nearby woods but managed to detain two 17-year-olds shortly thereafter. The juveniles had been consuming Twisted Tea and verbally provoking each other, which escalated into a physical conflict. During the investigation, authorities suspected the involvement of firearms and initiated a search.

Deputy Myers deployed his K-9 partner, Gunner, to assist in locating any hidden weapons. Gunner successfully tracked and found a handgun buried under leaves. Continuing the search, Gunner led deputies to another concealed firearm. Both firearms had altered serial numbers and were confirmed stolen.

The juveniles were charged with multiple counts including disorderly conduct, underage alcohol possession, and possession of stolen firearms. They were also charged with altering a firearm’s serial number

South Toms River Man Detained on Murder Charges

**South Toms River, NJ** – On March 18, 2025, Gustavo Juarez-Perez, aged 38, from South Toms River, agreed to remain in custody at the Ocean County Jail awaiting trial. He faces charges of Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in connection with the March 8, 2025, death of his wife, Cheyanne Juarez, aged 30.

The decision for Juarez-Perez to remain detained was made before the Honorable David M. Fritch, J.S.C., during a hearing. Assistant Prosecutor Nicholas Mezza represented the case at the detention hearing.

These charges are accusations, and the public is reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office continues to handle the case.
