**Willingboro, NJ** – Santa Claus is set to exchange his traditional sleigh for a fire truck this year in Willingboro. Willingboro Fire & EMS and the Police Department are assisting Santa in making his rounds across the town on Thursday, December 14.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and have cameras at the ready. Santa will be accompanied by lights, sirens, and an abundance of holiday spirit.

City Employee Arrested for DWI After Accident Involving City Garbage Truck

**Schenectady, NY -** On Tuesday, the Schenectady Police Department responded to an accident on the 600 block of Orchard Street at approximately 8:06 a.m. A City of Schenectady garbage truck backed into a worker loading trash, temporarily pinning him between the vehicle and a pole.

The injured worker was transported to Albany Medical Center and has undergone surgery for his injuries. Following the incident, officers conducted an investigation.

The truck’s driver, identified as 51-year-old Robert L. Thomas from Schenectady, was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He has been charged with driving while intoxicated, both with a blood alcohol content over 0.08 and a general offense, as well as backing unsafely.

Thomas was released on appearance tickets and is no longer employed by the city. The victim’s name has not been disclosed, and he remains in recovery at the hospital.

On Monday at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a crash at Cedarville Road and Dent Road. At the scene, they found the driver, Frederick Hand, inside the dump truck with traumatic injuries. He was transported to a hospital where he later died.

Initial investigations suggest that Hand was driving northbound on Cedarville Road when his truck veered off the roadway and hit several trees. The specific cause of the crash is still under investigation.
