Teen Arrested for Assault and Attempted Robbery in D.C.

Washington, DC – A teenager has been arrested in connection with an assault and attempted robbery that took place in September.

On Friday, September 11, at approximately 4:40 a.m., the victim was attacked in the 1400 block of Columbia Road, where a suspect attempted to take the victim’s bookbag and brandished a gun while demanding property. The victim refused to comply, resulting in minor injuries.

Following an investigation, detectives identified a suspect and obtained a custody order. On October 16, members of the Third District Crime Suppression Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1400 block of Columbia Road. A 16-year-old male from Northwest was taken into custody and charged with Assault with Intent to Rob.
