Pewaukee, WI – A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with a severe road rage incident that injured an elderly man. The defendant, Oliver McSorley, faces a count of battery against an elder person, with intent to cause bodily harm.
The event occurred on October 28 near Waukesha County Technical College. McSorley was charged recently, according to court records.
Witnesses reported the altercation began when McSorley aggressively tailgated the 81-year-old’s vehicle. In response, the elderly driver slowed down, which escalated tensions.
A confrontation occurred at a traffic light where the senior driver briefly tapped the bumper of McSorley’s vehicle. Both men exited their cars, after which an argument ensued.
The older man allegedly pushed McSorley, who then repeatedly punched him in the head and body. By the time, bystanders intervened, the elderly man was already on the ground.
A 911 caller described McSorley’s actions as aggressive, indicating the senior man was in a fetal position. The caller feared for the older man’s life during the attack.
The victim sustained significant injuries, including bleeding from the ears and one eye, along with suspected concussion, scrapes, and bruises. He reported blurred vision and difficulty moving his right shoulder.
McSorley left the scene but later turned himself in to police. He claimed the altercation began when the older man pushed him, knocking off his glasses.
While in custody, McSorley allegedly made a phone call expressing regret that he had not inflicted more harm. He described the older man as lucky to have only sustained a concussion.
