Teen Arrested for Church Van Theft in Seaford, Delaware

SEAFORD, DE – Police are investigating a church-related theft in Seaford.

A man identified as 18-year-old Ronald Alberts from Seaford, was arrested by the Delaware State Police for stealing a church van early Friday morning.

On Tuesday at around 1:52 a.m., a trooper noticed a white Dodge passenger van swerving on Concord Road close to Church Road near Seaford. The trooper pulled over the van on Concord Pond Road and engaged in conversation with the driver, later identified as Ronald Alberts.

Upon running a computer check, it was discovered that the van was registered to a local church. After contacting a church representative, it was confirmed that the van had been stolen from the church parking lot. Consequently, Alberts was apprehended for the theft of the van. Following his arrest, Alberts was taken to Troop 5 and charged with several offenses, including Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree, Driving without a Valid License, and Numerous Traffic Offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and subsequently released on a $2,400 unsecured bond.
