Teen Arrested for McKeesport Homicide After Months-long Investigation

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – After an extensive investigation, the Allegheny County Police Department has apprehended an 18-year-old male, Sanchez Spence, in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred in McKeesport earlier this year.

On March 1, 2023, at 12:08 pm, emergency services were alerted to a shooting incident on the 3100 block of Versailles Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders discovered 47-year-old Robert Joyner with a severe gunshot wound to the head. Joyner was immediately transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Following the incident, homicide detectives launched an investigation that involved multiple witness interviews and the examination of surveillance footage from the vicinity. Through their rigorous investigative efforts, detectives identified McKeesport resident Sanchez Spence as the perpetrator of the deadly shooting.

Sanchez Spence was arrested earlier yesterday and has been charged with criminal homicide. He is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail, awaiting his preliminary arraignment.
